The Department of Statistics established in the year 1981, when the degree course in Mathematics was started and Statistics became one of the complementary course offered. The department has one permanent faculty and hence there exists a combined Department of Mathematics & Statistics.
The vision
of the department of Mathematics and Statistics
is to move towards excellence In higher education in order to achieve a just, plural and equitable society in consonance
with the constitutional values.
Statistics is one of the complementary courses offered with B.Sc. Mathematics, which is a 3 year (6 semesters)
under graduate course in Mathematics.
