WWS WALK WITH A SCHOLAR

Walk With a Scholar (WWS) scheme proposes to arrange specialized mentoring programs for students in Under Graduate Programs in Arts, Science and Commerce and to provide guidance for their future. The scheme introduces the idea of mentoring and builds on the concept of mentor as a ‘Guide’ and ‘Friend’.
The College Council acts as the monitoring committee and supervises the activities of the program in the campus. The activities of the scheme are coordinated by a College Level Coordinator and five other internal mentors per each year in the degree course identified from among the teaching faculties. Every year each internal mentor spends 20 hours and external mentors spend 30 hours with the selected students.
Admission to the scheme is voluntary in nature. Any student of a first year degree programme with a minimum of 60% marks is eligible to apply for admission. The maximum number of students to the program is 30. The students are selected department-wise on the basis of merit in consultation with the respective heads of department and class tutors.
External mentors
A group of eminent professionals from various fields such as psychology,motivational training,spoken English ,academics ,media etc took external mentoring sessions on holidays
Motivational visit
The students went on tour to visit zoological survey of India ,Calicut,NIIT Calicut,historical places in Wayanad Edackal caves etc. where they could interact with the professional students and experience the historical importance of our culture.
State camp
One of the mentees,Mr. Muhammad Maqbool from 2nd BSc Applied Physics was selected to attend the two day motivational state camp .He could interact with his peers and experience the rare opportunity to represent this college.
