Dept of Chemistry

The department of CHEMISTRY was established in the year 1965 as a part of Pre-Degree course. The department was upgraded with UG programme in B.Sc.POLYMER CHEMISTRY in the year 1995. The department offers B.Sc. in POLYMER CHEMISTRY in alternate pattern which is a language reduced pattern The intake of students is 32 The course has all the papers of B.Sc. Chemistry. In addition very useful and application based common courses and electives are offered. • The elective paper is POLYMER PROCESSING AND TECHNOLOGY. • Investigatory project included in VI semester • Complementary courses are Mathematics and Computer science. • We offer an open course in Environmental chemistry. • Opportunity for higher study in all streams of chemistry including polymer chemistry • Placements in polymer based industries
